Little Star Designs

Based in Grange, Co. Waterford and with a new workshop in Dungarvan, Little Star Designs creates personalised gifts that would add such a wonderful unique touch to any nursery or kid's room.

The creator of Little Star Designs tells us on the website that her son Matthew was the inspiration for taking the plunge and setting up the business and "can be found from time to time flinging fabric all over my sewing room looking for his favourite images and colours". The custom made quilts are described as "conversational" pieces that tell a child a story in the same way that a storybook does at bedtime. It's suggested that the quilts could also be hung on the wall of the child's bedroom to create a feeling of warmth and depth.

The "cottage style industry" also specialises in personalised Memory Cushions, each one individually designed using your own pictures. These would make a great Christening or newborn baby present.

The great thing about these is that they're not just for kids, because there's such a range of fabrics to choose from you can get something to suit everyone. Here's an example of a cushion using Gingham & Floral Red Laura Ashley fabric with wedding pictures. This would make such a nice present for a best friend or a sister, using photos of various nights out or special occasions!

Little Star Designs ships nationally and internationally. To see the full range of products, prices and fabrics check out the website. Here are a few examples of the colourful kid's fabrics - there are many more to choose from!
